This shingle tear-off item uses demolition labor, but the hourly rate alone doesn't tell the whole story: the correct labor classification depends on the work performed, and allowances for setup, cleanup and other supporting tasks can offset a lower rate. The proposal tool we're building will compare those assumptions with the actual job, weigh supported corrections and trade-offs, and show the net gain. Richard Pray's National Construction Estimator, published by Craftsman Book Company, supplies the location factors behind our company rates.
Our goal: compare relevant locations, justify the strongest applicable figure and calculate the net effect in seconds.
The sample shows a lower demolition rate alongside a supporting-time allowance. Neither proves overpayment or underpayment by itself: scope, labor classification and actual job conditions matter.
